The different Flying Blue levels

Each Flying Blue level gets you different benefits. The more you travel, the more XP (Experience Points) you gain. These allow you to reach higher levels and enjoy the perks that go along with them!

How do XP work?

You gain XP on all eligible flights with Air France, KLM and SkyTeam partners. The number of XP you gain depends on your travel cabin and the flight type.

How can you maintain or upgrade your Flying Blue status?

You are a Flying Blue Explorer member

You have 12 months to gain enough XP to increase your level. After those 12 months (which begin as soon as you earn your first Miles or gain your first XP after joining the Flying Blue program) your Miles & XP counter starts back at zero.

Gain 100 XP to advance to Silver. We'll subtract the 100 XP from your XP counter and you’ll keep the rest. This will give you a head start towards becoming Gold or maintaining your Silver status.

When you become a Silver member, you'll get to enjoy this new status for 12 months.

You are a Flying Blue Silver member

You have 12 months (after a year of being Silver) to gain enough XP to maintain or increase your level.

Earn 100 XP to maintain your Silver status. After 12 months, we’ll subtract the 100 XP from your total and you’ll keep the rest.

If you earn 180 XP during these 12 months, you’ll move up to Gold. In this case, we'll subtract the 180 XP from your XP counter and you'll keep the rest. You'll get to enjoy this new status for 12 months.

If you earn less than 100 XP in these 12 months, you'll become an Explorer, 12 months into being Silver.

You are a Flying Blue Gold member

You have 12 months (after a year of being Gold) to gain enough XP to maintain or increase your level.

Earn 180 XP to maintain your Gold status. After 12 months, we'll subtract the 180 XP from your total and you'll keep the rest.

If you earn 300 XP during these 12 months, you'll move up to Platinum. In this case, we'll subtract the 300 XP from your XP counter and you'll keep the rest. You'll get to enjoy this new status for 12 months.

If you don't earn 180 XP in these 12 months, you'll become Silver, 12 months into your Gold status.

You are a Flying Blue Platinum member

You have 12 months to earn enough XP to either keep your current status or upgrade to a higher one. This period begins on the anniversary of your Platinum status.

Win 300 XP and keep your Platinum status. At the end of 12 months, we will deduct these 300 XP from your balance and you will keep the rest.

If you win 900 UXP over the course of these 12 months, you will become a Flying Blue Ultimate member. In this case, we will deduct 900 UXP from your balance and you will keep the rest (900 UXP maximum). You can enjoy this new status for 12 months.

If you earn less than 300 XP in 12 months, you will become a Gold member at the end of this Platinum status period.

You are a Flying Blue Ultimate member

You have 12 months to earn enough UXP to keep your current status or upgrade to a higher one. This period begins on the anniversary of your Flying Blue Ultimate status.

If you gain 900 UXP during these 12 months, you can keep your status. At the end of these 12 months, we will deduct 900 UXP from your balance and you will keep the rest (900 UXP maximum).

If you earn less than 900 UXP in 12 months, you will become a Platinum member at the end of this Flying Blue Ultimate status period.
